First stop is the famous War Remnant Museum, also known as the Museum of American War Crimes which first opened in the public at 1975. This museum showcases the brutal time of the Vietnam war. You will find in this museum military equipments like fire arms, fighter plane, tanks, rocket launchers, helicopters, conventional bombs and single seater attack aircraft. Every single weapon used were used at some point during the Vietnamese war from the year 1945-1975.
One of the most iconic memorabilia found in this museum is the famous tiger cage where the political prisoners were kept during the war. Each cage is about 2.7 meters by 1.5 meters x 3 meters each and at some point they put in together 14 prisoners inside. It also features a guillotine which is used by the South Vietnamese and French to execute opposed prisoners. Also there are some gruesome photos of fetuses and locals who were exposed to Agent Orange a very strong chemical sprayed during the war. It has been reported that there were an estimate of about 500k children with birth defects and about almost nearly 5 million locals at the year 1961 to 1971 were exposed.
Second place to go is the Cu Chi Tunnels. The Cu Chi Tunnels is part of the war museum that shows the underground live of the 1948 Vietnamese soldiers. This place is about 70 kilometer northwest of Saigon. This place is about 120 km that has a hidden kitchen, living area, trapdoors, storage facilities, command centers, hospitals and armoury. This same tunnel is also used and expanded during the war against the Americans after the French invasion. It helped the Vietnamese soldiers during the air infiltration of the Americans with the carpet bombing. These tunnels are so deep where tanks will be able to pass under.
This is one of the most visited tourist spot who wants to experience how the underground soldiers lived their lives before. The inner of the tunnel has been widen and have coated with cement to make it more comfortable to visitors
Third on the list is the famous Cao Dai Temple. Cao Dai faith is a religion which is a mix of Confucianism, Taoism, Islam, Christianity, Buddhism and this temple is the center of it all. It is very much welcome for tourists to learn about this faith and visit the temple. The decoration of this temple is so beautiful which has lots of colorful dragons flying around cloud murals at the ceiling.
Fourth, Jade Emperor Pagoda is also one of the most significant place to visit in Ho Chi Minh which was built at 1909. This beautiful temple was originally made by the Chinese immigrants and is now welcomes Buddhist worshippers. The decoration of this beautiful temple is timeless and exotic which shows carvings, and statues of Goddesses and Gods.
Fifth on the list is the Bitexco Tower which is one of the most modern office tower in Saigon. This ultra modern building is the highest in the whole Vietnam with about 68 floors and 262 meters tall. It has a helicopter landing pad and has a 360 degrees full view of the whole city.
